We're now seeing that it has to be MAMA who takes the J-man to the stairs, because he still believes that Tim will pick him up and carry him. Tim doesn't, but it's funny to watch anyway. Looks like Tim will have to do the same thing I did, although he CAN go to the stairs and just go up (or down) and the J-man will eventually follow. There are still some quirks regarding the gates, and today I had to put the J-man on the steps and close the gate to get him to come upstairs... but I think he was just testing me, because after I closed the gate and walked up, he followed up quickly and quietly. Our kids don't learn if we don't keep pushing them to try. I am still putting socks and shoes on my almost-6-year-old. Why?! I know it will take him forever to do it himself, and I know he will become frustrated and scream. But your post today has inspired me.
