Blake - keep meaning to post this. I'll get around to reviewing this book one of these days too. Recently I read Rex (which officially goes by the long title Rex: A Mother, Her Autistic Child, and the Music that Transformed Their Lives). It's written by Rex's mom. Their story is mind-boggling. You have to watch the video clips of him too (available on that Amazon page and on YouTube as well I think). He's someone you have to see to believe.

The book is very well-written, engaging, and a pretty quick read. Definitely worth picking up for inspiration purposes.

That book found me when Little Bug was first diagnosed. I desperately needed some hope and sense that this isn't the impending doom that ASD is often made out to be.

I read it on the bus from Tacoma to Seattle and back and I am pretty sure I terrified the other riders. I laughed and cried and cried some more. It was what I needed to show me that it isn't magic but hard work. That it isn't a death sentence, but a different path.

This is my favorite book and I find myself reading it whenever things with ASD become too heavy.

Jason has given us as parents a gift.
