It just goes on and on, my friends.
Some people started sneezing it
Not knowing what it was
And they’ll continue sneezing it
Forever, just because
This is the cold that never ends…
That’s where we are folks. Stuck here in the land of Girl Scout camp songs and Ayla-lore about why cough medicine is cherry flavored.
I STILL have this cold, although I am much much better than I was – I no longer sound like Isaac Hayes, and can generally sleep at night. Tim, on the other hand, is now absolutely miserable. I truly thought he was immune, because he didn’t get it for so long. I guess maybe karma was agreeing that having both of us sick at the same time would be too much.
In pregnancy news, I am now officially in the 3rd trimester. I go in today for the glucose tolerance test. It’s a truly disgusting drink of essentially non-carbonated soda, with an extra cup of sugar added to it. With my pregnancy with the J-Man, they only had the orange flavored kind, and I hate orange flavored soda, so it was extra yuck. I’ve been assured of lemon-lime flavor this time, which I can only hope will not make me hate Sprite from here on out. I do this test because I have several risk factors (I’m old, I’m fat, and I’ve had a big baby before, even though I didn’t have Gestational Diabetes with the J-man).
I put together the new changing table last night – I had read reviews that the instructions for putting together this brand of baby furniture might not be the best, and in those cases, it’s generally better if I put the stuff together as Tim is too impatient. He also starts worrying about tolerances, and whether engineering-wise things are the way they should be – whereas I just read the directions and put it together. The kit was missing a bolt. They’re mailing it tomorrow. I’m tempted to open the crib to check the hardware there as well!
The J-man has decided that now is a time to: a) be really sweet and loving and come give us kisses, and b) have an incredible amount of energy, up to and including running head-on into the stair-post tonight. The mark it left looks sure to bruise – on the middle of his forehead. We’re both loving the sweet part – Tim is now part of the “putting J-man in the crib” nighttime routine, because I’m having trouble bending over like that, and they are both enjoying it. It’s so nice to see the two of them together.
I’m sitting here trying to get something to work on my work computer, and it’s one of those things that normally takes about 1/2 hour tops. I worked on it for 2 hours already during the day, and have now spent over 1 1/2 hours tonight… and it’s still not finished. It doesn’t look like it will be any time soon. Stupid upload times…

I know exactly where you’re coming from as we’re all cooped up in the house with the rain pouring outside, far too much energy to be contained. I need to think up an excursion to get rid of some of the wiggles.
Cheers
