Rosario,

My fear is that we will be way up in the sky in a commercial airplane traveling somewhere and J-Man will have some sort of major problem and there won't be anything we can do about it. Parents of autistic children have had problems with U.S. airlines because behavioral problems with children (supposedly) can be reason to remove you and your child from the plane. Whether this is legal or not is another issue.

With the economy being so bad, airlines are flying every flight absolutely full. I don't like flying on crowded flights myself. I only wonder what it would be like for him. The air pressure changes concern me to. He's seemed sensitive to that before.

You make a very good point about taking a 'test flight'. There are some places locally that will take you on short plane rides in small airplanes that have just enough room for the pilot and your family. You might fly around where you live for 30 minutes or an hour and land at the airport you left from. If he had a problem with flying there, we could always just go back early and land. Good idea!

We can't afford to fly much anyway. If we go on vacation - which we haven't done in three years - it would be somewhere nearby that we would drive to. Maybe someday.

Hi
I just want to say that have you given a try?? to all de airplane thing and travel wiht J-Man?? I live in London and I am from Mexico plus when ou live in Europe you travel thats what you do plus my husben and I love travel and all I can say is Mauricio has been in a lot of trips from 1 hr. until 12 hrs (London- Mexico) and I have never had a probllem with him. On the contrary he loves the airplane and look at the window the other airplanes and cars and everything, he is so happy looking.........
Yes after 8 hrs. he can get upset abaut the hole been in the same place but we walk and chat whit other people and I buy a portable dvd and always have snacks and somehow he is the perfect boy and have never had a problem.
Ok I know J-Man probably get upset but you don't know and somethyng that I have learn since auricio was born is that he keep sorprisi me in the most incredibles ways, Belivme a lot of times I think "no Mauricio is not going to be interested in that or there is no way Mauricio will do that" and he always rise to my expectations in the most unbeliveble ways and I have learn to give him the chance always, not to think or decide for him, he will let me know if wants or not but I have to give him the chance and I know he will blow my mine.
Maybe you can star with a very short flight to a beach or to a place you know he will enjoy and you can talk to the airlain and ask for the special seat for kids and they are not much better but there is more space.

I wish I'd have known you were coming to Seattle! We could have arranged to meet, or you could have stayed with us here.
